Bhagavad Gita Detachment and Yoga Banner

Key Thought

Actions, doers, and results are all governed by nature.

Verse

Deeper Understanding

Meaning

The Lord creates neither the actor, actions, nor the union of action and results; these arise naturally due to inherent qualities (gunas).

Explanation

God neither makes people act nor assigns results; all come about naturally from the qualities of nature.

This teaches us that

Understand that our behavior and its results depend on natural qualities, not direct divine command.
