Bhagavad Gita Detachment and Yoga Banner

Key Thought

Steady mind is the hallmark of real yoga.

Verse

Deeper Understanding

Meaning

Just as a lamp in a windless place remains steady, yogis fix their minds to the self and meditate steadily in yoga.

Explanation

Like a lamp shielded from wind that does not flicker, the yoga practitioner keeps a calm, steady mind fixed on the soul.

This teaches us that

Stabilizing the mind is the true identification of yoga.
