श्लोक / Verse

एतान्न हन्तुमिच्छामि घ्नतोऽपि मधुसूदन ।
अपि त्रैलोक्यराज्यस्य हेतोः किं नु महीकृते ॥

भावार्थ

अर्थात

हे मधुसूदन! मैं इनका वध नहीं करना चाहता, फिर चाहे त्रैलोक्य का राज्य हो, यह क्यों नहीं धरती के लिए किया जा सकता है?

मतलब

हे मधुसूदन! मैं इन लोगों को मारना नहीं चाहता, भले ही ये मुझे मारने की कोशिश करें। अगर मैं इनको मार दूं, तो पूरे तीनों लोकों का राज्य क्या होगा? यह धरती पर कोई अच्छा उद्देश्य नहीं होगा।

इससे हमें यह सीख मिलती है कि

हमें किसी भी काम को करने से पहले उसके परिणामों को समझना चाहिए। बिना सोचे-समझे निर्णय लेने से बड़ी समस्याएँ उत्पन्न हो सकती हैं।
