गुण मुझसे उत्पन्न हैं, मैं उनसे परे हूँ।
The qualities (gunas) arise from Me, but I transcend them.
श्लोक / Verse
मत्त एवेति तान्विद्धि न त्वहं तेषु ते मयि ॥
भावार्थ
अर्थात
जो लोग सात्त्विक, राजसिक और तामसिक गुणों को दर्शाते हैं, वे सभी मुझसे जुड़े हैं, लेकिन वे मुझसे भिन्न हैं।
मतलब
सत्त्व, रज और तम — ये तीनों प्रकार के भाव मुझसे उत्पन्न हुए हैं, पर मैं इनमें नहीं हूँ, ये मुझमें हैं।
इससे हमें यह सीख मिलती है कि
ईश्वर गुणों से परे, परंतु सबका कारण है।

Deeper Understanding
Meaning
These qualities—sattva (goodness), rajas (passion), and tamas (ignorance)—manifest from Me, yet I am beyond them; they exist within Me.
Explanation
All modes of nature arise from Me but I am beyond such qualities; while they influence the world, I remain untouched.
This teaches us that
Understand that God is beyond but the source of all qualities; transcend worldly modes.
