इन्द्रियों पर जीत, जीवन की सबसे बड़ी जीत।

श्लोक / Verse
पाप्मानं प्रजहिह्येनं ज्ञानविज्ञाननाशनम् ॥
भावार्थ
अर्थात
इसलिये, तुम प्रारंभ में ही अपनी इन्द्रियों को नियंत्रित करो, हे भारतर्षभ! और पापों को छोड़ दो, जो ज्ञान और विज्ञान के नाशक हैं।
मतलब
इसलिए हे अर्जुन! सबसे पहले अपने इन्द्रियों (आँख, कान, मन आदि) को काबू में करो, और इस पाप रूपी दुश्मन को मिटा दो, क्योंकि यह ज्ञान और समझ को नष्ट कर देता है।
इससे हमें यह सीख मिलती है कि
अगर इन्द्रियों पर काबू नहीं रखा, तो समझ भी खो जाती है और गलत रास्ते पर चल पड़ते हैं।
