इच्छाओं की आग बुझाओ, तभी सच्चा ज्ञान पाओ।

श्लोक / Verse

आवृतं ज्ञानमेतेन ज्ञानिनो नित्यवैरिणा ।
कामरूपेण कौन्तेय दुष्पूरेणानलेन च ॥

भावार्थ

अर्थात

अर्जुन! कामना के अग्नि के समान कभी न तृप्त होने वाले शत्रु के द्वारा ज्ञान आवृत हो जाता है।

मतलब

हे अर्जुन! मनुष्य के अंदर का सच्चा ज्ञान उसकी इच्छाओं की आग से ढक जाता है। ये इच्छाएं कभी पूरी नहीं होतीं और हमेशा कुछ नया पाने की चाहत बनाए रखती हैं। यही इंसान का सबसे बड़ा दुश्मन है।

इससे हमें यह सीख मिलती है कि

अगर हम हर वक्त कुछ न कुछ पाने की सोच में रहते हैं, तो हमें शांति और सच्चा ज्ञान कभी नहीं मिल सकता।
