स्वधर्म में मृत्यु भी श्रेयस्कर है।

Even death in your own dharma is auspicious.

श्लोक / Verse

श्रेयान्स्वधर्मो विगुणः परधर्मात्स्वनुष्ठितात् ।
स्वधर्मे निधनं श्रेयः परधर्मो भयावहः ॥

भावार्थ

अर्थात

अपने स्वधर्म में विफलता से मरना श्रेष्ठ है, पराए धर्म से सफलता प्राप्त करना खतरनाक है।

मतलब

अपने धर्म में मृत्यु भी कल्याणकारी है, लेकिन दूसरे के धर्म का पालन भय देने वाला होता है।

इससे हमें यह सीख मिलती है कि

स्वधर्म में अटल रहना ही साहसिक और श्रेष्ठ मार्ग है।
